[attr="class","dupertext"]My father's first praise was a wonderful day. I had accomplished the task of being the top in grades in our school, with my sister a close second. Our school also won a prestigious award by the Queen, which I am fairly sure hinged on my accomplishment, considering I got a medal for it. I also finally managed to solve his frustrating riddle, with some help of my twin. When I gave him the answer, hidden with my report card under the medal, in a counter-riddle, he was quite proud. He told me I had made him proud.
[attr="class","dupertext"]Therian is one of two children that are the heirs to the reputable estate of Bertram. He, as the male child, is of course expected to become the next Duke and run the Estate beautifully. As such, he was raised quite properly in order to serve his function later in life as best as he could. He was always a perfectionist about this, making sure that everything he did was almost as flawless as he could manage. Generally he succeeded but often he failed as well. As such, he was always a bit bitter towards his twin for not having as much responsibility as he did.
However his father has a strange habit of loving riddles, so often the family found themselves going over to this city in Japan. Eventually, the father had bought a villa there for their vacationing needs, and often traveled there during the year. On average, they spent about a good half of the year at this location. At least, that was until two years ago, when they actually moved there as a request for a while. In order to see how the japanese trained their detectives, Therian's father was stationed and opened his villa to English immigrants, to help them settle into Japan, and reposition them within the city in order to gain training.
Of course, his father's passion for riddles passed down to his children as well, thus leading to often fun moments amongst the close knit family. That and a lot of board game creations.
